This week we will be starting our unit on Native Americans. This is an extensive unit, so please encourage students to review their social studies journals daily, as there is a considerable amount of information they will need to learn. I have included a link to a PowerPoint, which will also help with review.

In Math, we will be finishing off our unit on area and perimeter, and starting multiplication towards the end of the week. We have already touched on this through the area model, which students have used successfully.

In reading, we are beginning our second novel study which will be Frindle, by Andrew Clements. We will be analyzing the story elements and answering questions as we read in our groups. This is a good way for students to build vocabulary, and to read more deeply. Hopefully, it will also foster a love of reading.

Wishing you all a good and productive week.
